PiVoT Peace Lab

PiVoT Peace Lab

Polarization pulls us apart.

We investigate and address what brings us back together.

About the Lab

This lab offers a space for students, scholar-practitioners, academic researchers to dive deeply into polarization and violent conflict from multiple perspectives. Lab members examine why it has surged, and how to transform conflicts by mitigating and possibly reversing the damage these trends have caused.

We seek to generate evidence-based findings from multiple disciplinary perspectives to provide the best peace-oriented response to the negative impact of extreme polarization and conflict. We also seek suitable measures to foster accountability for past crimes and transformation of conflict dynamics.

Our world is full of differences, and conflict is a natural part of life.

But, in a world torn apart by inter-group struggle, we envision a future where conflict transformation practices help it heal.

What We Do

  • Investigate: Primary source research and publication
  • Act: Translation of research findings to on-the-ground programs
  • Collaborate: A network of scholars and civilians dedicated to conflict transformation
